Unconditional Surrender

In human warfare, a nation that unconditionally surrenders accepts abject defeat. Humiliation, suffering, sometimes political and economic chaos, are the outcome.

How different is the surrender that Christian Science demands! It is no capitulation to a person, group, or nation but a complete yielding to the will of God—humble obedience to the spirit of the First Commandment. An unconditional surrender to the omnipotence of omnipresent divine Mind produces positive results. It is the royal way to peace, joy, health, and abundance.

This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place." Science and Health, p. 9;
