One of the joyous experiences...

One of the joyous experiences of a Christian Scientist is the expression of gratitude, and I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings that Science has brought into my life. It has opened for me the "windows of heaven" (Mai. 3:10).

It was my privilege when a little girl to listen to many discussions about religions. As a result I formed a concept that Christian Science was a religion to which one could turn for help in time of great trouble or, perhaps, when there was no other help. Later I found this to be true. I learned that Science is an ever-available, practical, and all-sufficient help in overcoming any difficulty, disease, or discord.

The first wonderful experience I had through Christian Science treatment was an instantaneous healing of measles. My father had taken me to visit my sister, who was attending college. It was almost on our arrival that the disease was manifested, and I had a high fever. I was isolated in a hotel room. We were new students of Christian Science, but I was allowed to choose a practitioner rather than a doctor.

The practitioner explained that unless the disease was healed within a certain number of hours, it would be necessary to report it. She sent my father and sister from the room. I remember her telling me that I could not be separated for an instant from God. She sat quietly by my side. In less than an hour she called my father and sister to return. I was completely free.

The physical healing for which I am most grateful is the healing of a chronic skin disease. For several years I suffered severely from the disease, which was manifested on my face. When great fear and sensitiveness were overcome, I was healed. My heart overflows with gratitude to the practitioners who at different times guided me through the darkness of material sense into the light of spiritual sense.

To the blessing of health, I should like to add the opportunities Christian Science has given me for education and for service as a teacher of young children. The blessings I received as a student and as a teacher are innumerable and immeasurable. I am deeply grateful for class instruction, which continues to stand out as the greatest experience of my life. I appreciate the opportunities given me to teach in the Christian Science Sunday School and the privilege I had of serving as Reader in a Christian Science college organization.

For Christ Jesus and for Christian Science, God's great gift, the final revelation of Truth, given to us by our inspired Leader, I am grateful.—(Miss) Frances Althea McQuoid, Wichita, Kansas.
