Christian Science came into my life after my mother had suffered from periodic bilious attacks for many years. As time went on, the attacks had become more severe and had caused her much suffering.

During one of these attacks I visited the village library, where I noticed a book entitled Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I at once felt drawn to this book. At that time I knew nothing about Christian Science. Later I borrowed the book from the library.

As soon as 1 started reading Science and Health, I knew that I had found the truth for which I had been so earnestly seeking. My two sisters also became interested in Christian Science; and "as the three of us continued to study Science and Health, our mother was gradually healed of the bilious attacks. The attacks grew less in intensity' until they finally disappeared. We are grateful for this healing.

When a dear nephew of ours was seven years old he became ill with what the school nurse thought was measles. My sister called a practitioner, who at once began treatment for the child. This was on Tuesday. On Friday the school doctor came and pronounced the illness scarlet fever. The child was seriously ill. My sister telephoned the practitioner and told her what the doctor had said. At the same time as she was telephoning, the child seemed to be passing on. The practitioner's calm assurance, "I will help you," was a great aid, since much fear was being expressed. In a few minutes the alarming symptoms began to disappear, and in a few hours they disappeared completely. The child was healed.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and for class instruction. I am grateful for God, for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, for Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this wonderful gift, Christian Science, and for our faithful practitioners.
