My wife and I have been students of Christian Science for over twenty years and have experienced many healings. I should like to write about our most recent experience that goes back to the time, almost four years ago when I retired at the minimum age set by the corporation I was employed by, because of a departmental closedown. I then looked forward to immediate part-time employment to supplement my pension, but none was available. We subsequently sold our home in the large city where we had lived our entire married life and where I had been employed, and moved from friends and church to our summer home forty-six miles away.

We became active in a nearby branch church, and we made every human effort to make life interesting by busying ourselves in caring for our home; but we seemed isolated from friends and an active job market, and life for us came to a standstill. Then, during the holiday season, my wife and I took a long look at our spiritual selves and discovered that we actually had in abundance everything we needed and that our opportunity to express and experience happiness completely as God's man was right where we were.

In a matter of days we received a telephone call inviting us to be interviewed for employment. We were delighted to find that the building for which a caretaking couple was being sought had been leased, approximately seventeen years ago, to the Church of Christ, Scientist, of which we had been members. We were able to tell the interviewer of our previous contact with and knowledge of the building. The result was that we were hired immediately.

This took place just before the New Year, and our earlier plan had been to visit at approximately the same time our daughter, who lived seven hundred miles away. Our new employer urged us to make the trip and begin our job in the middle of the month, though we would begin drawing pay from the first of the month. Our new employment provides living quarters, utilities, and salary to my wife and me.

In addition, the summer home we had been living in and which we had been eager to sell for seven years was sold for a very satisfactory price.
