It is with sincere gratitude that I am writing this testimony in order to help my fellowmen. In 1927 a friend of mine who had been confined to her bedroom for nine years was instantaneously healed after one visit from a Christian Science practitioner.

This healing so impressed me that I inquired into what had caused it; and so on the following day I was led to visit the same practitioner. I myself was greatly in need of healing because three weeks before this my doctor had told me that he could do nothing for me and that I would become a helpless invalid.

I was afflicted with spinal trouble. However, on my first visit to the practitioner whose work had healed my friend I was completely freed from this condition. It was certainly the Christ that had healed me in answer to my fervent prayers.

A remark made to me by the practitioner at that tune has stayed with me ever since. She asked me if I thought that any earthquake on this planet could affect the sun. My answer was that it would be impossible. Then she said, "And no more, could it touch you as the son of God."

The practitioner lent me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and also gave me a coin of the Sentinel. I went home feeling a different being. I found that I could now move my limbs normally.

I took no more medicine and read the textbook day and night. At the end of a fortnight I realized that I was completely free from headaches which had sometimes lasted for six weeks at a time. I threw away all my medicines, as I now knew that I could not serve both God and mammon, and I have never had any desire for medication since that time. I could not express in words my gratitude for this healing.

Eleven months later I was healed of a fractured ankle. I relied entirely on Christian Science for this healing, never even thinking that material remedies might help me. After five days the practitioner who was working for me came to see me. Immediately after her departure I realized the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 471), "Man is, and forever has been, God's reflection," and straightaway I found that I was healed.

Another healing that I had was that of an internal displacement, for which the doctor had said that I must have an operation. This healing was brought about by my own work entirely. During my study I came to see that there could be no displacement in Mind. There is only God's law operating. After a while all the discord ceased, and I was free.
