A previous testimony of mine was published in 1947, and I feel impelled to write again expressing gratitude for added blessings.

I am grateful for having been enrolled in The Mother Church Sunday School at twelve years of age when my parents became interested in Christian Science. The teaching I received there gave me a foundation in the truths of Science, which has proved to be the greatest blessing of my life. I shall never cease to be grateful for all the good it has brought to me and mine through the years and especially for a happy, harmonious home and the privilege of rearing our two sons to manhood with the help of its teachings.

We have had many healings and instances of God's protection in our family during the years, and I should like to tell here of a healing which took place a few years ago.

I awakened one morning with one eye swollen. Thinking the swelling would probably go down, I did not pay too much attention to it. However, as time went on it grew larger and finally centered just above the eyelid, near the nose. There was infection, and at times the condition was very painful.

I worked and prayed to the best of my ability and finally asked for the help of a practitioner. But the condition did not improve, and after some time I dismissed this practitioner and asked for the help of another one. Finally I came to realize that it was something in my own thought that needed to be healed and not a physical condition, and I prayed to be shown what it was that needed correction in my thinking.

One day, in a Reading Room, I was led to pick up a copy of The Herald of Christian Science (French Edition) and read an article entitled "Undisturbed."

As I read, it seemed as though the article were written expressly for me. I had not realized before how many little things of every description I had allowed to disturb and irritate me and also how very impatient I was about everything. That was my answer, and from then on I endeavored to be more undisturbed and patient in every way. Soon after this the healing came, and the condition cleared up completely.

This demonstration covered a period of over a year, but it proved to be a blessing in the spiritual growth it brought about and the positive conviction I gained that Truth is always victorious over the claims of error. I realized we should never give in to error.

I was very grateful all during this time for the loving support and encouragement I received from my husband.

For the practitioners who helped me in this demonstration by holding so steadfastly to the truth and for the inspiration of the church services, which I attended regularly during this period, I am sincerely grateful.

Mrs. Eddy gave to the world a priceless gift when she set forth the teachings of Christian Science as revealed to her, and I am deeply grateful for this gift, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, in which it is a happy privilege to serve, and also for class instruction.—(Mrs.) Bessie T.
