In Psalms we read (92:1), "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High." With this statement in thought, I offer a testimony witnessing to the healing power of God in Christian Science and expressing my gratitude for the many blessings which have been mine as a result of the daily study of Science and its application in my life.

About three years ago my car was struck by an automobile transport truck, and the impact wrecked the car. I was in a state of nervous shock and unable to walk or stand. I held constantly to the thought that God is ever present and that the truths of man's oneness, or unity, with the Father, as taught in Christian Science, could and would deliver me. An ambulance took me to a nearby hospital where, upon arriving, I immediately asked for the use of a telephone and called a Christian Science practitioner in my home town.

No medical aid was given, and no objection was raised when I asked to be removed from the hospital to a hotel. The ambulance drivers were still in attendance, and they quickly responded to my request. I am deeply grateful for their cooperation. Eventually I was taken to my daughter's home.

A month elapsed during which I had consecrated and prayerful work done by the practitioner, which, together with my own diligent application of the truth, resulted in a complete healing of the condition, which was one of sprain affecting the body from the waist down.

Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." I have found this true in many other instances of healing, such as those of colds, cuts, burns, a nervous breakdown, an injured foot, and grief due to the passing on of loved ones.

I had an experience a few years ago for which I should like to express gratitude. Mrs. Eddy makes this statement on page 428 of Science and Health: "We must realize the ability of mental might to offset human misconceptions and to replace them with the life which is spiritual, not material."

I awakened during the night in great bodily distress. In order not to disturb my husband, I made my way to the living room, took up the textbook, and reclined on the davenport to read. I read only one paragraph on the page at which the book fell open. With each sentence I asked myself: "Do you believe this? Do you understand it? Does this truth heal?" My answers were all in the affirmative.

Through this question and answer method I overcame fear, and a great sense of peace settled over me. I fell into a sound sleep and awakened perfectly well.

Day by day I am increasingly grateful for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, who through her lifework gave mankind the Comforter—Christian Science—promised by Jesus. —(Mrs.) Gladys E. Warren, San Mateo, California.
