It is with a heart filled with gratitude that I submit this testimony. My introduction to Christian Science came through reading its literature left for the public in distribution boxes. I was deeply impressed by what I read, and soon I began to attend Christian Science church services. After I had purchased and read the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I knew this religion was the answer to my longing for an understanding of God.

I soon began to apply what I was learning. Hay fever disappeared at once when I realized that God is Love. Ringworm disappeared with the same realization. I had believed that my cat was responsible for these difficulties; but I was able to see that Love cares for its greater and lesser ideas and that they cannot harm each other.

When I was still new in Christian Science, I caught one of my hands in the wringer of a washing machine. The girl helping me was very much afraid, but I felt no fear at all. I asked her to stop the machine and release the rollers, and when she did so I was able to free my hand. I put it behind me and managed to finish the washing, using one hand. When I later looked at the hand which had been trapped, there was not a mark on it.

These early healings convinced me that Christian Science does heal, and as I went ahead with my study, I lost the desire for smoking and social drinking.

After being married for several years and having no children, I felt impelled to visit a Christian Science practitioner and ask for help. Before I left, she asked me why I wanted a baby, and I answered that I knew it would help me to understand purity. She then told me to go home and study the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. I was overjoyed when later on I realized that my prayer had been answered.

I now have three children, and they have been protected and healed in Christian Science many times. Some of these healings were those of measles, chicken pox, earache, boils, sties, and toothache. One child was struck by a truck on a busy highway, and with the help of a practitioner he was out of bed within two hours, completely recovered.

I want to add my gratitude for the healing of grief at the passing of loved ones. Also, I am deeply grateful for the better concepts of home, companionship, and supply which have come to me as I have persistently held to the teachings of Christian Science.-— (Mrs.) Juanita W.
