By Divine Guidance, Not by Chance

"In Science our experience is governed not by
chance, but by God"

During a morning break several office workers discussed the subject of chance and uncertainty in one's experience. They marveled, for instance, at the great chance one takes in getting married or even in accepting an invitation which might lead to marriage and so change the course of one's life. They believed that we are governed by circumstances over which we have no control and that these circumstances can bring either happiness or misery into our experience. "When one thinks of these things," summed up one of the group, "it isn't any wonder there are so many neurotic, psychopathic people around."
