I am deeply grateful to the friend who introduced me to Christian Science and for all the encouragement I found when I first read a copy of the French Edition of The Herald of Christian Science. I learned that Love is the life of man. Mrs. Eddy assures us in Science and Health (p. 454), "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way."

I was healed of several illnesses, including gallstones, uremia, and dizziness. Walking had been very difficult for me. We read (ibid., p. 373), "Establish the scientific sense of health, and you relieve the oppressed organ." I held on to the scientific sense, realizing that health is a spiritual quality of God, reflected by man in His image and likeness, and was healed of all my difficulties.

I also had the smoking habit and was accustomed to read cheap thrillers. The Scriptures contain this command given by James (4:7,8): "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." I followed this counsel and was freed from the habits. This release and the physical healings all came about within one week of my commencing to study Christian Science.

A few years ago, when I was in the vicinity of a Christian Science Society, I fulfilled my desire to attend a service.

My testimony would be incomplete if I did not express my gratitude to the practitioner who has so often helped me; she has given me much guidance in removing fear and has helped me to heal my children and grandchildren. My husband too was healed of severe fatigue, and I thank God for the harmony in our home.

I am grateful to God for Mrs. Eddy, who gave us the textbook, Science and Health. And I thank God, our Father-Mother, for bringing me into the light of Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Jeanne Nicolas Kowalezuk, Cransac, Aveyron, France.
