I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for the truth that comes to me through the study of the weekly Lesson-Sermons, outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly. The Christian Science Journal, Christian Science Sentinel, and the religious articles in The Christian Science Monitor are constant sources of inspiration and help. I am very humbly grateful for the help of Christian Science practitioners, who answer our calls with quiet, healing words of God's love.

When our fifth child was born, the doctors told me that the child had the wrong blood type and that if he survived the first few hours, they would probably have to change it by transfusion. Immediately word was sent to a Christian Science practitioner, who was helping us. Her work was so clear that a few days later the physician said he did not know what had happened, because the child's blood was all right. This child is now enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School with his brothers and sisters, learning of God and of His perfect children, made in His likeness.

At another time our daughter was brought home from the playground, bleeding severely from a wound in her temple. I called a practitioner, who said she would work immediately. The other children and I sat down to pray, using the Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation, given by Mrs. Eddy on pages 16 and 17 of Science and Health. We also repeated "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468, and gave special attention to the line which reads, "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness." Then from the Christian Science Hymnal we sang the hymns which were written by our Leader. During these few minutes the bleeding stopped, and the wound closed.

When I called to tell the practitioner that the child was well, I said that this time I had not, as I had on former occasions, become ill at the sight of blood. The practitioner said that she had handled that suggestion and also the suggestion that a scar would remain. The injury left no aftereffects.

We have constant proof of God's loving care and are very grateful for the truth of God and of man, His reflection, as taught in Christian Science.— (Mrs.) Roberta Wiley, Flint, Michigan.
