Because I have had many wonderful experiences in Christian Science, I can sincerely "sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me" (Ps. 13:6).

Since I was a very nervous child, I had to be taken out of school for a year at an early age. During that time I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, and I so embraced the fact taught there that God is Love and Truth that my childhood became happy and free from discord. It was not long until I was in school again with my original class.

Later, when in high school, I was ill with tonsillitis and had help through the prayer of a Christian Science practitioner. I was quickly healed. A few years later, when I was being medically examined for entrance into college, the doctor insisted that my tonsils had been taken out and found it difficult to believe me when I said they had not.

An asthmatic condition was healed after it had persisted for almost five years. The healing took place one night when I was alone in the house and resulted from my own prayers. It occurred fifteen years ago and has been permanent.

More and more I am learning that physical healings are the signs following, the natural effects of an understanding of Truth. One night I felt very ill and was unable to sleep. I began to pray and realized the ever-presence of God, infinite good; I also declared that man is really His perpetual, spiritual expression. I knew that man lives as reflection, imaging forth Godlike qualities, and that it is impossible for him to experience, or even believe he can experience, anything ungodlike. However, I still could not seem to rejoice in these truths.

So after praying that I might be receptive to Truth, it came to me that I must clean out every thought of man as mortal. Searching further, I found that I was seeing a dishonest man as a reality. A few days previous to this I had witnessed a friend in a dishonest act; this had bothered me greatly. Upon the advice of a well-meaning third person, who said, "Don't dwell on it," I ignored the incident. Now, at this later time, I could see that ignoring the error was far from handling it. With rejoicing I knew this to be the answer, and I was able to recognize that this friend was actually an immortal, expressing all the attributes of Truth and therefore completely incapable of dishonesty. When I became conscious of this perfect reflection of God, I knew that I too was included in this perfection, and the physical condition was healed.

These are only a few of the many experiences I have had in Christian Science, and I am deeply grateful for them all. My greatest gift has been the wonderful privilege of having class instruction and thereby grasping a fuller, more active understanding of the Christ, Truth. This gift is proving to be a great help in my activities in branch church work, in healing work, and in the business world.
