I should like to relate two recent...

I should like to relate two recent healings, for which I am unspeakably grateful.

For some time I had had a small growth on my cheekbone and had been applying the truths of Christian Science to the situation as best I knew how, but the growth remained. Then I heard a Christian Science practitioner testify at a Wednesday evening meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist, to the simultaneous healings of a growth on her eyelid and a corn on her toe. She said she had realized that something in her thinking needed to be healed, and in praying about it she was led to love more—to love everybody and everything.

A few Sundays later I went to church and saw this practitioner in the foyer. I told her that I was thinking of asking her for treatment in Christian Science and pointed to the growth on my face. She replied very firmly, "I don't believe it," meaning that she did not accept as true the material evidence to which I was pointing. She knew that God, good, is the only creator and that therefore evil has no reality.

I went on into church, thinking about what she had said. That night the growth came off my face while I was sleeping, and my skin was left smooth and normal.

Later, when I had influenza and lung trouble, I called the same practitioner for prayerful help. She gave me several references to study from the Bible and from Mrs. Eddy's writings. Among them was page 185 of "Miscellaneous Writings" by our Leader. One sentence on the page reads, "The will of God, or power of Spirit, is made manifest as Truth, and through righteousness,—not as or through matter, —and it strips matter of all claims, abilities or disabilities, pains or pleasures."

I pondered the references all day and endeavored to keep my thinking in line with them. The illness disappeared entirely; there were no aftereffects and no period of convalescence. I am grateful for the work of the practitioner and for the fact that the healing efficacy of Christian Science was again proved in my experience.

I am grateful too for class instruction and for all that Christian Science has done for me and for the whole world.—(Mrs.) Maude Rabaugh, Dallas, Texas.
