Christian Science was presented...

Christian Science was presented to my mother when my father passed on in 1921, and in her hour of need she accepted its blessings. Since then we have relied upon it completely as the way of Life. The teachings in the Christian Science Sunday School unfolded to me the facts of God's goodness and allness and planted my feet firmly in the pathway of Truth.

Since I have grown to know more of my Father-Mother God and His perfect creation, wonderful protection and guidance have been mine through the years. So-called children's diseases were never accepted as inevitable, and therefore they never touched my experience. When in college I was protected from contagion in a serious epidemic and was able to visit others in need and to help them.

Healings I have experienced through the ministrations of Christian Science include those of tonsillitis and quinsy, a twisted ankle, sorrow, and false traits of character. On one occasion being troubled by a sore throat and having lost my voice I attended a Christian Science lecture, and during that uplifting period my health was completely restored. A hard, painful lump on the back of the hand disappeared overnight after I studied prayerfully these words from Hymn No. 324 in the Christian Science Hymnal:

Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.

During a holiday I was overcome one morning by a severe attack of lumbago. Unable to move, I prayed to realize God's allness and my perfection as His child. With rejoicing, I knew man's unity with his creator, God. I knew too that as God's reflection I could never be separated from good or be touched by false beliefs. As on so many occasions, the Bible Lesson for that week from the Quarterly helped me. The difficulty yielded, and I was able to dress and later in the morning to enjoy a swim. Some discomfort recurred; but with joyous confidence in the power of Truth to overthrow error, I declared the truth regarding God and His reflection, man, and the complete healing came.

For membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church and for class instruction and for the work of our practitioners, my gratitude knows no bounds.— (Mrs.) Edna Alexander, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.
