Christian Science has healed me...

Christian Science has healed me and my family many times. I am particularly grateful for the following healing of our younger boy. One Saturday he complained of not feeling well. We did some prayerful work, as we usually do at such times, but he grew worse instead of better. I then realized that the symptoms resembled those of cerebrospinal meningitis.

I did not tell my wife, but called a Christian Science practitioner that Monday morning. I told him what I thought the condition was and confessed that although I had worked throughout the night, I was unable to remove the fear from my thinking. He lovingly assured me that God, divine Love, is capable of meeting every situation and that as God's power was accepted, not only would the fear be removed but the boy would be healed.

For the next three days and four nights there seemed to be no improvement. My wife and I prayed much during those days and nights and studied the Bible as well as Mrs. Eddy's writings. The assuring words of the practitioner were the only positive encouragement.

On Thursday I visited the practitioner and discussed the problem with him in more detail. I asked him why I was still fearful. I did not doubt the presence and power of the Christ, Truth, as revealed in Christian Science. We had proven this healing power many times before; therefore why could we not see a more rapid improvement here?

He again assured me that sickness is not real and therefore is no part of the child of God. I left the practitioner's office much enlightened, and he continued to pray for the child.

When I arrived home that afternoon, progress was noted. The pain gradually subsided. That night we all had some sleep. Also the child took a little food. From then on, his improvement was steady. Within a few days more, he was completely healed.

I am grateful for this impressive healing and for the loving help of the practitioner. But most of all I am grateful to our beloved Leader, who was unselfish enough to share her revelation of God's healing power with mankind. I am also grateful for the greater understanding of Christian Science that I have gained through class instruction.— Ernest W. Seuss, Pelham Manor, New York.

I also want to express humbly my gratitude for witnessing this healing.

We have had many healings by relying solely on the teachings of Christian Science. The children have been healed of measles, chicken pox, severe earaches, and colds. One boy had a broken collarbone, which was quickly healed in a matter of days through Christian Science treatment. Discordant human relationships have been quickly corrected, and business problems have been solved. Many of these healings were accomplished with the help of a Christian Science practitioner.

For all that Christian Science has done and is doing for the world, I am thankful. I am profoundly grateful to Mrs. Eddy for having given this blessed truth to us. — (Mrs.) Dirce E. Seuss.
