I am grateful that my parents began studying Christian Science when I was an infant. Because of this I was reared in a Christianly scientific home with the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. I can recall numerous healings, and through the study and application of the Christ, Truth, we had proofs of God's loving care of His children.

When it was time for me to go to college, the way opened to attend one for the sons and daughters of Christian Scientists. It was during those four years that I really started applying the truth to every phase of my daily experience and working prayerfully for myself. Up to that time, it had often been more convenient to ask for help in Christian Science from a parent or a practitioner.

I am grateful to testify to the removal of fear and anxiety from thought before participation in athletic games. Previously the fear and worry had affected my playing ability for the first period of any game I entered.

Divine Science was truly the Comforter at the time of the passing on of a loved one. During this experience it was the absolute reliance on God, divine Love, that aroused me from the self-pity with which I had been mesmerized for a long time. With this awakening came a clearer understanding of and closeness to our Father-Mother God.

About a year ago I was faced with a physical condition which forced me to prove my heritage as the perfect child of God. My head ached almost continually, and at various times I would lose consciousness.

I studied and prayed, as I had been taught in Christian Science, and received occasional relief. Using the statement, "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself," found on page 385 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was able to do my daily work around the house and to care for our two preschool children.

After several months had passed, my son came to me one day saying he did not feel well. I asked him if he would repeat with me "the scientific statement of being' from page 468 of Science and Health. His reply in the negative prompted me to declare: "Yes, we will. The truth heals."

Immediately he started to repeat with me this statement, which begins with these words: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Within an hour he was feeling well and playing as usual. That evening I realized with gratitude that I too was free from the head pain and had been free since making that simple declaration that the truth heals. There has been no recurrence of the discordant condition.

For these experiences, and for many others, I am very grateful for Christian Science and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this great Science. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church, for active membership in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, for class instruction and the yearly association meeting.
