Many years have passed since I was healed of asthma and hay fever. I had suffered from these ailments from time to time since the age of six, and I did not know just when the attacks might occur. For this reason I was especially nervous whenever visiting friends.

After taking up the study of Christian Science, I gave up all reliance on material remedies and had Science treatment whenever it was needed. Relief from these difficulties after that always came much more quickly.

In the spring of 1903 I was in Florence, Italy, for preparatory study in connection with a series of mural paintings, for which I had been commissioned, for a state capitol building. At the time I was very young and had executed but one series of wall paintings, the results of which had brought me this new and much larger order.
