Christian Science was presented to me at a time when I was experiencing a mental upheaval because of my concern regarding the illness of my mother and the results of an unfortunate first marriage. About this time my mother, who was seriously ill, decided to have Christian Science treatment. The practitioner requested that she attend services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and it fell to my lot to take her, which was done under protest.

However, as f sat there at my first Wednesday evening testimony meeting, I was oblivious of my surroundings until my eyes lit upon three words in gold lettering on the wall behind the Reader on the platform. These three words read "God is Love." Then as I looked round the congregation in the church, I saw a number of men there, and I thought that if a man would come to a place like this and listen to what I was listening to and like it, there must be some good men in the world.

I was instantly healed that first night of all mental turmoil, including bitterness towards the opposite sex, and I have been a student of Christian Science ever since. I was later happily remarried.

Some time ago I was knocked down by a motor car near my home. At the time of the impact I did not lose consciousness, and when it was suggested that I should be taken to hospital, I emphatically refused to go. Instead, I sent for my husband, who was not far away, and together we went home.

A traffic inspector called at the house to inquire whether I wished to claim damages for any injuries I might have sustained, but I assured him that all was well, and no claim was necessary. However, he was not satisfied until I walked around the room in order to show that no limbs were impaired. He then left.

Later that day I looked at my wrist watch and noticed that there appeared to be two watches. In fact, everything was double. At the time I understood this to be a condition of double vision, brought on by the belief of shock. We immediately requested the help of a practitioner. I was reminded that there is only fine vision and only one Mind, the divine Mind which I reflected.

The condition was completely healed in a very short time. I was able to return to my place of business, and I have had no further trouble. Needless to say my gratitude is boundless, and I can never fully express in words my thanks for the help given to me by the practitioner and also for the privilege of being a student of Christian Science.
