WHAT DOES EASTER MEAN TO US?

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Rev. 3:20). What a wonderful promise that the ever-present Christ, Truth, stands waiting to meet our every need ! All we have to do is open the door and let the Christ in. Then Truth will guide our every thought and action.

No one can open this door for us. Each must do it himself. To do this, one must resolve to give up all materiality for Christ, completely yield the false sense of self, recognize himself and all others as God's infinite expression of Himself, and conform his life to this heavenly pattern.

The appearing of the Christ, Truth, is available in all its fullness through the wonderful teachings of Christian Science, the final revelation of Truth. Christian Scientists do not celebrate Easter by special festivities and observances and by the giving of gifts, for they endeavor to commemorate the resurrection every day of the year. Nevertheless, Easter has a deep meaning for everyone who is walking in the path of the Way-shower, Christ Jesus. What, then, does it mean to us? Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, has stated beautiful truths concerning Easter and resurrection throughout her writings.
