Many beautiful healings have taken place in my experience since the publication of my testimony in The Christian Science Journal of November, 1928. In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says (p. 184), "Mortal mind alone suffers,—not because a law of matter has been transgressed, but because a law of this so-called mind has been disobeyed." Several years ago the truth of this statement was proved in my experience.

One day early in the spring my husband and I gathered mushrooms. They looked edible in every way, and the next morning I prepared them for our breakfast. They were very good, but I had unconsciously admitted a fear into my thinking that they might be poisonous because they were not quite like others that I had prepared. When I went to do my week-end shopping and other errands, I became quite nauseated and had to return home.

I thought I would lie down, but instantly realized I needed help. I called my husband and told him of the condition. He assured me he would help me at once and told me to call in a few minutes. The suffering was so intense that I could not do this. I heard the telephone ring several times but could not answer it.

We lived not far from our business, and it was only a few minutes before my husband came home. He sat down beside the bed and read aloud several passages from Science and Health. Then he stopped and told me that lie thought my suffering was the result of fear that the mushrooms were poisonous and that I had broken a man-made law concerning them. Instantly we realized that there is but one law, God's law, and that God governs man at all times. By evening I was completely free.

Later, my husband told me that he had had no fear concerning the mushrooms until he witnessed my suffering. Then it tried to handle him also, but it was reversed at once through his steadfast declarations of the truth.

At another time, while I was teaching Sunday School at a boys' reformatory, I manifested a condition of hoarseness and cold. Because I also needed to be in my place in the Sunday School of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, that same morning, I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help. He told me to hold to the truths of "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468) and of the Lord's Prayer. In about thirty minutes I was completely healed.

Recently I had the happy privilege of serving as Second Reader, and I was so beautifully sustained by Truth that I did not miss a Sunday service. One Friday afternoon I fell and cut my knee deeply. It became quite stiff, but by Sunday I was able to be in my place without discomfort.

I am very grateful for all the good that I have received through serving the Cause of Christian Science. I am also grateful for the privilege of helping my fellow men.
