With every passing day, I find myself more appreciative of the marvelous, selfless work done by Mrs. Eddy in presenting Christian Science to the world. This Science has encouraged me to study the Bible as nothing else could have done. It is wonderful to live each day in the knowledge that no matter what problem arises, we have an opportunity to prove what we know of the Christ, Truth.

When I was of college age, I applied for membership in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and I was given an opportunity by the examining board to relate some healings I had experienced in Christian Science. I remember saying that I had been reared in Science and had almost never been sick or hurt. It was pointed out to me that this fact in itself was quite a practical demonstration of Truth's power.

I am so grateful for our Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly and for the periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor. They help me carry out Mrs. Eddy's counsel (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 210), "Beloved Christian Scientists, keep your minds so filled with Truth and Love, that sin, disease, and death cannot enter them."

In our household we have had healings of asthma, backaches, fever, seasickness, and car sickness. A large, beautiful diamond, loosened from its setting and lost at our summer cottage, was found after twenty-four hours.

In the hope that someone will be encouraged by knowing that there are instantaneous healings in Christian Science, I should like to relate one that stands out in my mind as a beautiful demonstration of God's care. About fifteen years ago every so often I would be overcome with pain so severe I could take only short breaths and dared not move at all.

One night around one o'clock such a pain occurred and was unusually alarming. For half an hour I lay silently declaring the truth until my mother looked in to see how I was. I asked that a telephone call be made to a Christian Science practitioner. When my mother came back from the telephone, I was out of bed, completely free from pain and fear. There has never been a recurrence of the difficulty.

For six months I had a rash on one of my hands. One day, when one of our children was in need of help, treatment was requested of a practitioner, and the child was healed overnight. The following day I noticed that the rash had disappeared from my hand, although I had not even spoken of it to the practitioner. When I thanked her for the child's healing, I mentioned this healing of the rash on my hand. She explained that when my anxious thought had been corrected, the rash had been eliminated.

Several years ago we noticed that our son had a lump on one of his legs. When it continued to grow, my husband, who is not a Christian Scientist, asked that the boy be taken to a doctor for diagnosis. The doctor told us that such a lump never dissolved of its own accord, but would have to be removed by surgery. When I reported this verdict to a Christian Science practitioner, she rejected it so completely that the lump disappeared, and it never returned.

I should like at this time to express my gratitude for the loving help given our family by the practitioners, for the privileges of membership in The Mother Church, teaching in the Sunday School and serving in various other capacities in branch church work. I have used many Reading Rooms throughout the country, and for each one I am truly thankful.
