When I was a child my mother...

When I was a child my mother was healed of periodic sick headaches through Christian Science. This healing made its impression upon my thought, but it was not until after I was married that I began to study this Science seriously.

Through reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, I was able to lay aside glasses which I had worn since I was a small child. This aroused me, and I became an active worker in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and was able to see clearly the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."

This was proved to me again when I suddenly inherited a business about which I knew nothing. Through the help of a Christian Science practitioner, this problem was solved and my needs were met.

Recently I was healed of a severe case of inflammation of the liver, and the same practitioner patiently supported and encouraged me. Many times she repeated statements from the Bible and Science and Health and insisted upon my singing the hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal with her. The struggle was long, but light came while I was reading a testimony in one of the periodicals.

The writer told of having to take her stand and to affirm that the healing was complete even before the physical evidence of disease disappeared. I too took my stand, and I was able to assure the practitioner that I knew I was healed. We rejoiced together, and, with continued help, the complete healing was soon manifested.

I am truly grateful to God for these healings and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving us such a practical religion.
