Some years ago on the advice of a most sincere doctor, I moved from the north of England to the south coast, because our daughter was suffering from asthma. The doctor told me the climatic conditions would be more beneficial and would, in his opinion, be the only means of saving the girl from worse suffering.

However, instead of our daughter's health improving, it became worse, and she had more frequent attacks of the asthma. One day I met a family who attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, and they invited me to go to the services with them. This I did, and I arranged for my daughter to go to the Christian Science Sunday School.

Blessings soon began to appear. The fear which I had felt regarding our child, a fear which had overwhelmed me, was slowly but surely removed by Truth, just as clouds are dissolved by the sun. Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says on page 299 of Science and Health, "Corporeal sense, or error, may seem to hide Truth, health, harmony, and Science, as the mist obscures the sun or the mountain; but Science, the sunshine of Truth, will melt away the shadow and reveal the celestial peaks." Our daughter was entirely healed. She is now married and has a daughter of her own.

During the First World War, before I became a student of Christian Science, I was wounded in the head, and the doctor who operated on me warned me later that as the result of the wound either my eyes or my ears would be affected. When studying for an examination, I became troubled with headaches; and remembering what the doctor had told me, I consulted an optician, who prescribed glasses.

Years later when studying the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly one morning, I read (Science and Health, p. 510), "Light is a symbol of Mind, of Life, Truth, and Love, and not a vitalizing property of matter." I then saw very clearly that the light of Truth pierces the clouds of erroneous thinking. I was healed and was able to dispense with the glasses I had worn for thirty years. I rejoiced in this newly found light of Truth.

Now, having had the glorious inspiration of class instruction in Christian Science, I can say with John (Rev. 21:1), "I saw a new heaven and a new earth." I am very grateful that through the study of the Bible and Science and Health I can sing and rejoice in the light of divine Line.—Frank G. Henderson, Wigan, Lancashire, England.
