The Bible tells us in many places to praise God. I can earnestly praise Him for a beautiful healing, for it was not very long ago that I was stone deaf. Now I can hear without difficulty the testimonies given at the Wednesday testimony meetings in a large auditorium of a Church of Christ, Scientist.

Before my healing, when I attended Christian Science lectures, I did not hear a word the lecturer said. However, I would leave with a great sense of spiritual uplift and would praise God and thank Him that I could hear spiritually. And I continued to thank God for the many blessings that were coming to me through the study of Christian Science.

One morning, when I was shaving, I heard a strange rumbling noise. After a moment I realized that I had actually heard the elevated train go past the house, about half a block distant. Later on I came out of a building that had trees in front of it. Looking up, I saw on the tiptop branch a little bird. The glorious thing about it was that I could hear the bird singing. That was the first time in about five years that I had heard a bird sing.

I thank God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, whose words and works recorded in the Bible show us how we can work out our own salvation, and for Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her deep spiritual understanding, has interpreted the truths of the Bible and brought them to us in such a simple form that anybody with an open mind can study and demonstrate them.
