It is with joy and gratitude that I place on record my testimony of the healing and uplifting power of Truth as taught in Christian Science.

For several years I was stricken with recurring attacks of rheumatic fever. Convalescence following each attack required from one to six months. Since my father and my brother had had similiar conditions, a physician pronounced the disease a family compliant.

In searching for a larger and more satisfying measure of spiritual understanding, my wife had attended various churches and had investigated schools of thought. Eventually she found herself interested in Christian Science, and she attended Sunday evening services and Wednesday testimony meetings. About that time the physician who was attending me stated that my condition was very serious and that I would have to spend six weeks in bed. My wife was much distressed and wondered how she could struggle through such a period. Then the thought came to her, "Surely now is the time to try Christian Science."

That evening my wife made her way to church, and after the service she obtained the name and address of a practitioner. That night for me was one of agony, with periods of semiconsciousness. Early in the morning my wife sought the practitioner, who lovingly came to see me a little later. I have no recollection of her visit, as I was only semiconscious, but the effect of the treatment was as though an angel had entered the house. I found myself back at business within two days, and there was no period of convalescence. I was strong and well.

Is it any wonder that the following Sunday found me at the nearest Church of Christ, Scientist, eager to find out how the healing had been accomplished? This healing took place over forty years ago, and from that day I have found that the daily study of the Bible with the aid of Mrs. Eddy's writings meets every need. Through my study of the truth, a condition of eczema, which had affected my arms and legs continuously for twenty-five years, entirely disappeared, together with all desire for tobacco and alcohol. I have also been healed of blood poisoning in an advanced stage.

These healings are a direct proof that the power of Spirit, as taught by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, eliminates from human consciousness the false beliefs of sickness, sin, and death.
