I became interested in Christian Science...

I became interested in Christian Science over twenty-five years ago when a sister was healed of tuberculosis. During these years I have relied entirely on this Science for healing and have been blessed in many ways through the study of this wonderful truth.

When our oldest daughter was in the first grade of school, she severed the end of her little finger in some large swinging doors at school. When I saw the finger, I was quite disturbed; so I called a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. One treatment only was required. I was no longer disturbed, the child was free from any pain or discomfort, and she was back in school the next day. Several weeks later the finger had healed, and the nail had completely grown out again.

Some years ago I was confronted with a severe physical condition. My sister-in-law, who had been a medical nurse for ten years before turning to Christian Science, later said that she believed the ailment would have been diagnosed by the medical profession as a hopeless case of cancer. This condition grew worse over a period of about two years. Finally I was confined to bed, not able to lift myself up or do anything for myself. Some loved ones were very much concerned, knowing that I was relying solely on Christian Science for my help. They argued that I must have a blood transfusion in order to be helped even temporarily.

There was no medical diagnosis, and no material remedies were used. I had proved the healing power of Christian Science many times, and I knew that if I continued to be faithful and obedient, Truth would not fail me. The words of a Psalm helped me many times (118:14), "The Lord is my strength and song, and is become my salvation."

A Christian Science practitioner was working for me, and through her consecrated work and my radical reliance on God a complete healing was effected. Deep gratitude fills my heart for the loving help of the practitioners and teachers of Christian Science. I also am most grateful for membership in The Mother Church, for the privilege of serving in a branch church, and for the blessed privilege of class instruction.—(Mrs.) Lucille M. Fisher, Del Mar, California.
