One day our daughter did not...

One day our daughter did not come at the usual time for breakfast. I went upstairs to see what was detaining her and found her crying. She said she was in much pain. I knew that the end of the school term was near and that it was important for her to be in her right place. Her undivided attention was mine while I gave her an audible treatment and explained to her that error has no intelligence to guide it and that there is no matter in which it can lodge. I continued along this line for less than five minutes, using "the scientific statement of being," given by Mrs. Eddy on page 468 of Science and Health, as the basis of thought.

Suddenly our daughter said that it did not seem possible that she could have been in pain, for she was now well. She ate her breakfast and went to school.

One year when I was returning home from vacation, I heard that my sister had pneumonia and was seriously ill. I declared the truth to myself that God's idea is always perfect. When I arrived at my sister's bedside, she was all right, and we had a good visit. The next day my brother told me that the doctor had given her up and had said that my sister would not live till morning. It is now more than fifteen years since this healing took place, and my sister is still well and happy.

One day when I was visiting in my brother's home, my sister-in-law said to me: "I have a wart between my fingers and it bothers me. I wish you would do something about it for me." I was ready to leave for my own home some miles away, but I gave her a treatment. When I saw her the next time, I asked her about the wart, and she said, "Oh, it just went away." I told her it had to go when the truth was applied.

I have had several instantaneous healings, some through the work of practitioners, and others through my own understanding. My gratitude goes out to God for the healings I have experienced, and for the protection I have had, as well as for the one who introduced Christian Science to me, and for the practitioners, who are ready to work day or night.

I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church, charter membership in a branch church, class instruction, the periodicals, and the many other means Mrs. Eddy has provided for the growth of the Cause—(Mrs.) Emma R. Murray, Peoria, Illinois.
