I wish to express my gratitude to...

I wish to express my gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for explaining through Christian Science the healing truth taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus. One of the outstanding blessings for which I am humbly grateful is the improvement of character and disposition which has come to me through the study and application of Christian Science.

In 1932 my husband passed on, and I was faced with the task of taking care of all the family responsibilities and of continuing the education of my son, who was then in high school. At that time this task appeared impossible. However, I used the Bible passage (Deut. 33:27), "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms." In addition, I held thought steadfastly to God and His idea and sang many times each day our beloved Leader's hymn beginning (Poems, p. 14), "Shepherd, show me how to go," and also Hymn No. 412 in the Christian Science Hymnal.

Moreover, I taught in the Sunday School and performed other duties in a branch church. I knew that our Father-Mother God was all I needed to make my demonstration of harmony. These lines in Science and Health comforted and sustained me (Pref., p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessing." As I found companionship in being at one with God, I gained freedom from grief. This healing proved to me that our problems can be worked out in Science.

I have been healed of an internal hemorrhage and of various diseases. I learned that were not true, because God, who made everything, does not know anything about sickness.

I am grateful for class instruction and for having a part in our great movement through church work
