Wishing to share with others...

Wishing to share with others the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science, I should like to express my gratitude.

The first healing in our family was that of my mother. She had suffered a nervous breakdown at the passing of my sister, and we traveled extensively, consulting the best nerve specialists known, but receiving no help. Living across the hall from our apartment was a student of Christian Science. She heard of my mother's grief and one day asked if she might come in and talk to her. This student said that she had something which she thought would comfort and help my mother.

We hesitated at first, because we had been told by a physician that my mother must be very quiet and receive few visitors, but we finally consented. The Scientist talked with her awhile, and when she left, there was marked improvement. From then on, with the loving help of this Scientist, my mother continued to get better, and she was soon completely healed of both her grief and the nervous breakdown. I was grateful for this healing and thought Christian Science must be a beautiful religion, but I was not ready to trust it for myself.

A few years later I manifested abscesses on my arm. A physician was called, and after a month's treatment, which included lancing and the use of material applications, the condition became so serious that the physician said: "I have tried everything, and nothing but amputation is left. Why don't you try Christian Science? It healed your mother, and I am sure it will help you."

We called on a Christian Science practitioner, and I spent some time with her, drinking in the beautiful words of Truth. She quieted all my fears, and advised me not to look at the arm, but to let God do the healing. In a week's time I was entirely free. Since that healing I have relied entirely on Christian Science. It has met my every need.

One of the greatest blessings that have come to me and one for which I am most grateful is that of class instruction. I wish to express my gratitude for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, where it is my joy and great privilege to serve the Cause by being active in church work. With a joyful heart I thank God, our Father-Mother, Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and Mary Baker Eddy, our revered Leader.— (Mrs.) Edna Peterson, Springfield, Oregon.
