We have experienced many wonderful...

We have experienced many wonderful healings in our home through Christian Science. Some have been instantaneous, while others have required a period of growth and spiritual unfoldment.

A number of years ago our daughter missed a week of school because of a painful ear condition. This difficulty had interfered with her joy and health a number of times previously, but this time it did so in a more severe form. A practitioner was called for help, and progress was seen and acknowledged day by day. We held firmly in thought that harmony is the absolute fact of man, God's idea, and that nothing can interrupt or stop this harmony. As a result of our acknowledging man's true relationship to God, the ear opened and drained completely, and the healing has been permanent.

The same daughter experienced the setting of what appeared to be a broken bone in the arm on two different occasions, each time with the help of a practitioner. Both times the material evidence was very alarming. The first experience was an instantaneous response to the truth. She heard the bone snap back into place and soon was outside playing again. The extreme swelling and discoloration receded immediately. The second healing came more slowly and required great steadfastness. The first twenty-four hours seemed almost unbearable, but "Truth is always the victor" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 380). The fall term of school began shortly after this experience, and she was present each day with no one else being aware of her difficulty. By the end of three weeks she had complete use of the arm and took an active part in sports.

Many years ago I was quite distressed because my hands were covered with warts. I thought I had worked in Christian Science sufficiently, but they continued to annoy me. Then one day I realized that this condition was no more real than any other evidence of matter and that it did not exist as a reality, but only as a belief to which I gave power in my thinking. I was not conscious of the condition for the next few days, but when I did happen to think about it there was not a trace of a wart remaining.

At another time, while we were on vacation, a member of the family experienced a beautiful healing of what appeared to be acute appendicitis. The practitioner in our home town was telephoned, and help was lovingly given. The following Sunday morning this dear one attended the church service with the rest of the family and reverently joined in singing praise to God.

For these and many other healings, for membership in The Mother Church and the privilege of serving in a branch church, and for the wonderful experience of class instruction, I am truly grateful.—(Mrs.) Ora Emiline Hammer, Indianapolis, Indiana.
