As the years of my study and demonstration of Christian Science have gone by I have become increasingly grateful for what God is and for what He does for mankind. I grew up in a home where the Bible was read aloud at the beginning and end of each day; so the joy of finding Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy a real key to the understanding of the Scriptures cannot fully be expressed.

My father, a retired minister in a distant city, asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner for my brother, who was paralyzed and who had been given up by three eminent physicians. With one treatment the paralysis was healed, and in addition, enslaving habits were broken. Referring to this healing, my father said, "Christian Science is the work of God." Through my brother's consequent devotion to this newfound religion others in the family also became interested in Science. Their interest led me to desire an understanding of this healing religion.

With my first visit to a Christian Science practitioner I was completely and permanently healed of a chronic complaint from which I had suffered since childhood. The revelation of Truth caused superstition, old doctrines, and medical beliefs to drop away, and all things became new. The birth of each of five children was marked with great ease and harmony.

During the depression I found God to be my constant companion and ever-present help in rearing the children alone. Our needs were often met through unexpected avenues when we turned to divine ideas, the resources of Soul. Four cases of whooping cough were instantaneously healed, and other so-called children's diseases were quickly overcome, with no aftereffects. Pneumonia, periodic tonsillitis, and mastoiditis were slower in yielding, but through consecration to Truth they were healed.

In travel, in business, and in the home I have found true Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 454), "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way." Peace and well-being have unfolded as I have learned to let God govern my life. Surely, as the Psalmist said (Ps. 145:9), "The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works." I am grateful for class instruction, the literature, and the privilege of having part in the Christianization of mankind through church activities.—(Mrs.) Wilmina F. Follmer, Los Angeles, California.
