During a very serious illness I prayed to God to let me live to bring up my family of three children, the youngest of whom was two weeks old. While I was convalescing, Christian Science was offered to me, and I realized that it is the one religion which teaches how we may fully serve God.

Through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I have had many healings, one in particular being the instantaneous healing of a painful chest condition, which had completely baffled the doctors. After this I regained normal health and strength, and I was able to lead a very active life.

During the Second World War my two sons experienced wonderful protection. The older was in the fighting for four and a half years, and though shells burst near him many times, he received nothing more than a surface wound. He was reported missing, but within three days we received the news that he was a prisoner, and eventually he was repatriated and sent back to duty. The younger son made the landing in France on D-Day and came through the fighting untouched. During the war period I gained some understanding of what Paul meant in his first epistle to the Thessalonians when he exhorted them to pray without ceasing.

I am very grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, as well as for class instruction and our annual association meetings. For all the help I have received through Christian Science I am truly thankful. I have learned to rely on God's guidance, protection, and provision in even the smallest details of my daily experience, and I can never express enough gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for giving to the world this Science, which is spreading around the world.—(Mrs.) Doris Elsie Dexter, Northwood, Middlesex, England.
