My gratitude to God for Christian Science is indeed profound. The fact that this Science heals sickness as well as sin is wonderful, but the fact that it prevents both these manifestations of mortality is to me even more wonderful. I have had innumerable proofs that Christian Science is demonstrable. Some healings have been instantaneous; none have taken long.

One of my children fell down a flight of stairs. I was in another room at the time, and when I heard her scream I stood still and declared, "There are no accidents in divine Mind." When I went to the child she cried, "My back hit the post; my back is hurt." I told her that she was in reality a spiritual idea of God and therefore could never be hurt. Then I asked her, "Can your back talk?" At that moment an instantaneous healing took place. She laughed aloud and replied that of course her back could not talk. There was no sign of an injury anywhere. There was only joy, the joy that comes with the realization of the ever-presence of Love.

My youngest child was instantly healed of a very high fever when I remembered that our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says (Science and Health, p. 376), "Destroy fear, and you end fever." I held the child in my arms and repeated the Lord's Prayer, which our Leader says heals the sick instantaneously. It certainly does, and I am very grateful.

With the help of a consecrated practitioner three of my children were freed from measles, one within twenty-four hours. A severe case of what I believe was ivy poisoning was healed when I realized the unreality of a very discordant relationship with a neighbor. As I began to detach error from person and to see God's perfect child, harmony became evident, and the physical difficulty disappeared.

For all these healings I am sincerely grateful, but I am more grateful to have overcome the social drinking habit, for I thereby gained more spirituality and consequently more ability to obey our Master's command. "Heal the sick" (Matt. 10:8). All the Christian Science periodicals have been very helpful to me and have greatly increased my understanding of the truth.—(Mrs.) Virginia R.
