When I was about thirteen years...

When I was about thirteen years of age I had a condition which the doctors diagnosed as anemia, and which they were unable to cure. After I had experienced three years of suffering and many weeks of missing school each year, a friend of my mother advised her to take me to a Christian Science practitioner.

We went to see a practitioner, and I remember that day as being the most wonderful one in my life. A great hunger for spiritual things was satisfied. On page 358 of "Miscellaneous Writings" Mrs. Eddy says, "All men shall be satisfied when they 'awake in His likeness,' and they never should be until then." The practitioner explained the ninety-first Psalm and told me about the truth of being in such a way that I felt I had been lifted from a not very pleasant state of affairs to one of perfect harmony. I was instantaneously healed. I became a student of Christian Science and later enrolled in the Sunday School. Subsequently I have had the happy experience of church membership.

Now, a long time after that first healing, I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings and healings, physical, mental, and moral, which I have had through the study and application of Christian Science. Each day is a revelation of God's greatness, power, and glory.

Class instruction from a devoted teacher was a sacred experience for me. I am grateful for the many branch churches throughout the world and for the Reading Rooms, where one may meditate and study the periodicals and the writings of Mrs. Eddy. And I am grateful that my children have the privilege of attending the Sunday School, where they are learning to make the Bible of practical use.

Great is my praise to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, through whose revelation we have the Comforter, "who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103:3).—(Mrs.) Altje Hamilton Randolph, Englewood, New Jersey.
