It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I offer this testimony as evidence of the healing power of Christian Science. Many years ago, when I was a small girl, I was healed of an infectious disease which my parents had been told would scar my face. This occurred in the days when there were few Christian Science churches and societies, as well as few practitioners. There was no practitioner in the little northern town where we lived, but my parents had an early edition of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The words on page 135 of this book, "The same power which heals sin heals also sickness," encouraged them, and they dispatched a telegram to a practitioner in Boston, Massachusetts, asking for help. There was an instantaneous and complete healing.

Our three children were born under Christian Science treatment. Our second son was born when I was alone in the room; the birth was without pain or discomfort, and I had no fear. This son was later badly burned by scalding water. Only his head and one arm escaped being burned. With the help of a loving practitioner the child was able to take food in a few hours, and in nine days he was out in the sunshine again, completely well.

At another time he broke his arm. Fractures of the upper and lower bones were revealed by the X rays that his father requested be taken. The X-ray attendant said that the surgeon would set the arm the next morning. That night, after only one treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, the boy ran to me to say good night and lifted his arm up over his head to show me that it was healed. Indeed "the word of God is quick, and powerful" (Hebr. 4:12).

I am truly grateful to have had the beautiful truth of Christian Science throughout the years. I could fill pages with the blessings I have received from its preventive and healing power. Tumors, goiters, appendicitis, chicken pox, measles, fevers, colds, and rheumatism, all have disappeared before the power of Truth, as it is revealed by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. An understanding of Truth has given me a joyous sense of security and peace, as well as my daily supply. Our wonderful literature that comes with spiritual refreshment brings further gratitude for Mrs. Eddy's thoughtfulness and foresight.
