BUILDING

[Of Special Interest to Children]

I Wonder if there is any boy or girl who may be reading this article who has never played at building houses? As every block is carefully chosen and fitted into its right place, what a joy it is to see the house rise higher and higher without a single fall!

Now, whether children—and grown-up people, too—know it or not, they are all building houses all day long. They cannot see the material with which they build or the house they are erecting, because the material used is thought and the house is a house of thought.

When building a toy house, if we are wise we shall first find something firm upon which to build, a foundation. In just the same way a firm foundation must be found for one's thought house. Let us look to the greatest and best teacher who ever lived, Christ Jesus, to see upon what he built his beautiful life. It was the great truth that God is Spirit and that all He has created is spiritual and perfect. Let that truth be our foundation.
