Our family has had healings of severe attacks of influenza in a few hours, of several so-called children's diseases, such as measles and mumps, of infections, boils, longstanding stomach trouble, and many other illnesses. All were healed through Christian Science alone.

Inharmonies, misunderstandings, ill-health, and fear are giving place to peace, harmony, health, joy, and confidence in God as the only Life, therefore our Life, and as the only source of supply and happiness.

Several years ago our son, then two years of age, was stricken with spinal meningitis. He was in a serious condition, manifesting a high fever and unable to stand. I read, sang hymns, and prayed earnestly for many hours. I had made several attempts to reach a practitioner, but I was unable to do so. The afternoon of the second day I placed the child on his bed, turning away from the terrifying picture and declaring aloud: "Dear God, even if this seems to take my child from me, I can still rejoice that it isn't the truth regarding the real man. It just isn't going on in God's kingdom, where all is well and health and perfection are the only facts of being. And that is the truth about this boy." Suddenly a very clear sense of the truth of these and other spiritual facts I had been reading came to me. I turned to the bed, and the boy was sleeping peacefully, his body straight and his temperature normal. I went about my work with tears of gratitude streaming down my face. There were never any aftereffects from this experience. The healing was instantaneous and complete, and it has been a great inspiration to me through the years.

I am also most deeply grateful for the following healing, because we learned so many practical lessons from it. A few years ago we suffered financial reverses, during which time my husband had a nervous breakdown. We turned to Christian Science, and through my study and application of the laws of God as revealed in this Science, these adverse conditions have been overcome in many wonderful ways. We were led to make a move which in turn led to our establishing a business of our own. During this time many false traits of character and disposition began to fall away. We have learned to build on a spiritual foundation instead of on the shifting sands of materialism. Jesus said (John 5:19), "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (Pref., p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." We clung to these and many other spiritual facts gleaned through our study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, until the problem was solved.

I shall never cease to be grateful to the friends and practitioners who so wonderfully sustained and aided us at this time. Once, when things looked the darkest, some dear friends sent us money and loving encouragement.

After establishing his business, my husband encouraged me to learn the work also. By applying my understanding of God as the source of my intelligence, ability, strength, and all needed qualities of thought, I was able to acquire a state license to practice in the office with him, although it was an entirely new line of work to me and I had been out of the business world more than twenty years.

Recently we felt the time had come for us to have a more adequate home. I began the work by a consecrated study of the seven synonyms of God as found in the writings of Mrs. Eddy. I knew that divine Principle actually governs all concerned in any transaction; that Love protects and guards; that divine Mind ever supplies our needs through its spiritual ideas; that Truth maintains harmony, honesty, justice, and righteousness; that Spirit lifts us out of the limitations of material-mindedness into the kingdom of heaven; that Soul provides discernment above and beyond the evidence of the senses, thus giving the right or true concept of home; and that Life is eternally manifested by man, who includes the right idea of home, as well as all other right ideas.

We found a very satisfactory home, and we were able to rise above the claim made by several realtors that our funds were inadequate to purchase the kind of home we wanted by knowing that the idea of home, being complete and included in God's plan and purpose for man, could not lack in any way.

I am very grateful for the Bible and for Jesus' lifework. I am also grateful for Mrs. Eddy's unswerving loyalty and devotion to her high mission of revealing the Christ, Truth, to this age. Only by living this truth can we adequately show our gratitude. I am proud and happy to be a follower of so great a Leader of Christianity.
