I became interested in Christian Science some years ago when visiting a brother who is a Christian Scientist, I told him that I wished to go to church with him to thank God for a safe and happy crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. Since then I have always attended a Church of Christ, Scientist.

I have been healed of continuous winter colds, severe backache, and a dislocated shoulder, which a doctor said would always be stiff, as it had been out of place two weeks before it was set. Material law, however, was put aside, and I was playing tennis in a few weeks, using the shoulder normally.

In 1942, when our town was blitzed and my home was bombed and burned to the ground, I was wonderfully protected. The angel thought came, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the World" (Matt. 28:20). We walked out of the basement and into the street with sparks and glass falling around us, and no one was hurt.

Later on, when looking for a new home, I planned to return to the same district to be near old friends, but could find nothing suitable. Then I realized that I could be only where God wished me to be, and in two weeks I was offered a home in another part of the city, which was more convenient in every way. I am very grateful for the many gifts received from friends when I was furnishing my new home, equipment for the home which was not obtainable in the shops at that time. I am also grateful for the kindness of my American friends who sent clothing.
