To the ever-increasing record of the healing power of Christian Science, I should like to add my testimony.

At birth I was disfigured by a large birthmark which covered my entire face. A member of the family consulted a physician and was told that it was a type of birthmark which could not be removed. However, through Christian Science treatment it disappeared, and there is no evidence of its ever having been on my face.

One Friday morning in the gymnasium at high school I broke my foot. The instructor, who had studied medicine, felt that she was competent to diagnose the difficulty and stated that I would be eliminated from competitive games for the rest of the season. She also said that unless I had adequate medical care I probably would have difficulty in walking all my life. Through the help of a Christian Science practitioner I returned to school the following Monday morning without any artificial walking aids, and in approximately two weeks I was permitted to participate in sports. The bones set and healed without medical aid of any sort. Some years later, when I was purchasing a pair of shoes, the salesman suggested that I verify the fitting by using an X-ray machine provided for that purpose. When he examined the lens, he remarked that at some time I must have seriously injured one of my feet, but that the bones were perfectly set. I was glad to inform him that I had been healed through Christian Science.

I have seen Science heal double mastoiditis, blood poisoning, carious bones, paralysis, burns, and many other errors. It has also been the means of my finding suitable, harmonious employment.

I am grateful for Mary Baker Eddy's unselfed love on behalf of all mankind, for her willingness to share this spiritual treasure through her writings, and for the many avenues of spiritual growth, such as Sunday School, church membership, class instruction, and the periodicals, provided for by her in the Manual of The Mother Church.—(Mrs.) Jean Marrs Leffingwell, Pasadena, California.
