I should like to express my gratitude...
I should like to express my gratitude to God for a healing I received of a severe sickness diagnosed by the physician as heart trouble and a diseased liver. I had been a bed patient in a rest home for five months. I was unable to walk and was almost blind.
One morning I heard a Christian Science lecturer over the radio tell of the healing of a man who had been ill for many years. It was wonderful, and I reasoned that if this man could be healed, I could be healed also. I was so impressed by what the lecturer had said that I longed to be able to hear more of Christian Science. A week later my prayer was answered, for I was moved into a room with a woman who, I found, was interested in Christian Science and had a copy of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mary Baker Eddy.
She let me borrow the book every day. At the end of a week I was able to walk out into the hall. All the other patients in the home were greatly surprised, because for five months they had seen me only in a wheel chair. One man asked me how I had gained so fast and said that I must have some powerful medicine. I told him I was studying Christian Science. He said that he had a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy which his sister had put in his bag and that I might borrow it if I wished. I was very grateful and began at once to read it. In ten days I came home, and I could walk again. Seven years have passed since this healing took place.
I should also like to tell of a recent healing of a painful hip disease which I experienced at a Christian Science lecture. This condition prevented me from going upstairs without help. I had had Christian Science treatment, and I studied and worked faithfully myself for several years, but the difficulty did not yield. When my branch church announced the date of the lecture, it seemed very important to me that I be present to hear it. I went early, with a deep desire that I might be healed, and I opened my thought to the truth.
The message seemed very clear to me, and I listened very closely. After the lecture was over I went home and walked into my house and upstairs without any help. I was not aware of the fact that I had done so until the next day, and then I realized that I had no pain and could walk with ease. The entire discomfort had left, and there has been no return of the difficulty. I am now in perfect health, and words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science.—(Mrs.) Minnie H. Flack, Seattle, Washington.
