I give thanks to our Father-Mother God for the innumerable blessings which are mine each day and also to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has left us the precious heritage of Christian Science.

I was always eagerly seeking a deeper and clearer religion, so I was overwhelmed with joy when divine Love, answering my prayer, placed in my hands the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. At first the book seemed difficult for me to understand, but as I studied it tirelessly, I finally came to see that divine Love is the only cause. When I went to live in another country far from my own, it was the Christian Science textbook which guided and sustained me.

At one time when I was suffering from the effects of a severe illness and the physicians held out no hope for the recovery of my health, I turned unreservedly to our Father-Mother God for healing. My prayer was answered, and my health improved from day to day, so that at the end of a short time I was healed. Mine was not only a physical healing. but a mental one—freedom from erroneous thinking.

It is with profound gratitude also that I testify to the divine protection which my family and I were privileged to have during the fighting which took place in and around Cernay for the liberation of our city. In order to protect ourselves from shell fragments and artillery fire, we took refuge in a cave some distance from our home. One morning, after a comparatively calm day and night, we were wakened by a heavy artillery barrage. We were faced with the problem of reaching our shelter as quickly as possible, but to do this seemed rather dangerous. We immediately declared the truth, knowing that divine Love protects its children in the most difficult situations, and we reached our shelter quickly without trouble, while shells burst above and around us without our being struck by the least fragment.

We are deeply grateful to divine Love for the innumerable blessings showered upon us daily, and to Mrs. Eddy, who gave us Christian Science, through which it is possible for us to understand God, Love, Truth, and Life.—(Mrs.) Elisabeth Hatterman, Gernay (Haut Rhin), France.

It is with joy and deep gratitude that I testify to the many blessings with which I have been showered, thanks to Christian Science.

In March, 1939, I suddenly lost my position. After turning to a Christian Science practitioner, I felt, in spite of the inharmonious evidence of mortal sense, a great calm and a deep sense of joy, In a short time conditions were righted again in a marvelous way, for I not only found a new position, but I also felt strengthened by this demonstration, and materially my income was augmented.

Some months afterward the war broke out. As we were living near the frontier, we were ordered to evacuate in less than two hours, leaving all our belongings. Thanks to the work of the same practitioner, to whom I again appealed for help, I immediately found another good position. Later on we regained possession of all our belongings, without losing a thing.

At the age of eight months our son contracted bronchitis and was unable to retain any food. He was healed in one treatment lovingly liven by the practitioner.

Some time ago I was bothered with dizziness and stomach trouble. It seemed impossible to eat anything. I was even unable to stand, and therefore had to remain in bed. In spite of all my efforts to demonstrate the truth, this state of things continued, and I was quite discouraged.

Finally, after two weeks, I gained enough energy to attend the Sunday service. I arrived there in a great deal of pain. During the service, while I was reflecting on the meaning of the words being read, they became so clear to me and so illumined my thought that I had a great sense of joy and felt all the ills which had weighed upon me disappear. At the end of the service I was completely restored.
