Neuralgia healed through determined stand for Truth

Being one who has been enlightened and encouraged many times through the reading of testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I perceive that "now is the accepted time" (II Cor. 6:2) for me to glorify God by taking advantage of the opportunity and the privilege, through the periodicals, of testifying to the omnipotence and ever-availability of good, God.

I have experienced numerous healings through the application of divine Science and through the realization that God's man is eternally harmonious. Migraine headaches, stomach disorders, fatigue, so-called hereditary traits of character, and other difficulties have been met with some understanding of the oneness and allness of divine Love and by knowing that in reality only God is.

I should like to relate a healing of a form of neuralgia. One Wednesday afternoon a severe pain commenced in one side of my face. After I had worked mentally for some time, the pain seemed to intensify, and one whole side of the body was affected; so I called a practitioner for help. The pain became severe, and it seemed impossible for me to remain quiet. As I dressed for the Wednesday evening testimony meeting, the suggestion kept presenting itself. If you can't sit quietly at home, how are you going to remain quiet during the church service? Each time the suggestion came I put it out with the thought, Harmony is present now; and I clung steadfastly to this great truth. Sometime during the service I awakened to the realization that I was completely free. I am most grateful for this healing because I gained a clearer understanding of what Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 167): "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized."

My gratitude is beyond expression for our beloved Leader's untiring and unselfed efforts to bring to mankind the revelation of Christian Science. I am profoundly grateful for the whole Christian Science movement, and to me the word "movement" expresses activity— the activity of demonstrating the Science of Christ. My unceasing prayer is, in the words of the Psalmist (Ps. 19:14), "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."—(Mrs.) Zona Bauer, San Pedro, California.
