Instantaneous healing stands as beacon light

As a child I was sickly and suffered from many of the so-called children's diseases. When I was about twelve years old, my parents became interested in Christian Science through a relative who had had a remarkable healing, and from that time on we all experienced greater freedom from disease. We had problems, but they yielded to the application of the truth as revealed by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, far more readily than they had to the best that the doctors could do for us.

During the time that I was still living with my parents, I witnessed the healing of scarlet fever, inflammatory rheumatism, bad burns, and severe colds. When I was working on my first job away from home, I awoke one morning feeling ill. I went to work, at the same time trying to help myself in Science; but as the day progressed the disease became more pronounced and painful. I returned to the boarding-house but was unable to eat as my throat was badly swollen. I went to the telephone and called a friend who was a practitioner, and before I left the telephone I was well again. This instantaneous healing has always stood out as a beacon light, showing the possibilities of Science.

Since that time I have had many physical healings, including those of a large carbuncle, abscessed ears with accompanying deafness, smashed fingers and toes, and colds. When loved ones have passed on, I have been healed of grief, seeing clearly that

... all of good the past hath had
Remains to make our own time glad

(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 238) and that in reality they have not ceased to live and reflect Love, as God's perfect children. Christian Science has been a great help in overcoming business and financial difficulties. I am sure that whatever success I have had is due to the teachings of this wonderful religion.

For membership in The Mother Church and in various branch churches, for our literature, which quietly goes where sometimes the message from a human tongue would not be listened to, for the lectures, and for all the activities of The Mother Church I am very grateful.
