Severe headaches disappear after earnest study

With a grateful heart I wish to testify to the many healings which I have experienced through Christian Science. From childhood I searched for a religion which would make my life worth while. I attended many churches, but the Bible remained a closed book to me. Life was often a great burden, although I clung to the beautiful verse (Matt. 11:28), "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

At a time of great affliction I lost m husband. Afterward I had an opportunity to visit my sister in the United States, where I soon learned of Christian Science. I shall never forget my first Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. It was to me like the day of resurrection. I soon realized that I did not know God, that I had very little understanding of Him. I accepted this teaching with a joyful heart and was ready to make any sacrifice.

The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was given to me, and through my earnest study of it the severe headaches from which I had suffered since childhood and which had caused me many a wretched day, were soon healed.

I endeavored to lay aside all faulty ways or characteristics which were unlike the image of God. When I returned to Germany, I devoted myself entirely to Christian Science.

The following winter I suffered a severe attack of the grippe which was accompanied by internal pains. I wanted to see the divine presence and power demonstrated, and I clung to the truth of Christian Science. My struggle was not in vain, for after a short time I was free from all symptoms of sickness. At another time I was called upon to demonstrate over shortness of breath. It was almost impossible for me to climb stairs, and at every step I repeated, "God is here." He was indeed with me, and He made me free.

Through our wonderful teaching we learn that neither time, age, nor decay exists. So at the age of fifty I learned to ride a bicycle, to swim, and to play the harmonium.

The spiritual nourishment provided by Christian Science brings to us happiness and peace and enables men to aid in the establishing of the kingdom of God on earth.
