Reading of Science and Health results in many healings

Christian Science has brought into my life so much joy and happiness for the past eleven years that I wish publicly to express my gratitude for it and for Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder.

There was a time in my life when I was seeking something. I read some of the philosophers and works on psychology and went to various churches. During those two years I had a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy but. though slightly interested, I did not understand it. Finally my health, which had been going from bad to worse, forced me to come to a decision. After visiting a Christian Science practitioner I came out with the sensation of walking on air. I truly was born again. From that clay to this, Science has been my only physician, and when rightly applied it has met my every need, not only physically, but mentally and financially as well. It has been the means of bringing a lovely companionship into my life, for which I am most grateful.

A year or so after coming into Christian Science, I went to the tropics to live. During six of those years I was away from Christian Scientists, and there were no Christian Science churches in the countries in that region. However, I never felt out of touch with Christian Science because of Mrs. Eddy's wisdom in providing us with the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, her writings, and the periodicals. These enabled me to work out any problems which presented themselves. At times when I was to mortal sense in great pain and there was no way of turning to a practitioner, the Bible and Science and Health always met my need and in a short time. I particularly stress my deep gratitude for Science and Health because so many of my healings came through reading it. Truly it has opened and is continuing to open my eyes to the spiritual truths in the Bible.

Some of the healings I have had have been of burns, boils, amoebic dysentery. ulcers of the stomach, periodic pains, a growth on the eyelid, a sprained ankle, bursitis, colds, and impetigo. The manifestations of the last-named were so unpleasant that panic nearly overcame me. As my fear was so great. I knew that I must do something about it. I looked up the words "fear not" in the concordance to the Bible. After reading the references, I experienced that peace "which passeth all understanding" (Phil. 4:7). Shortly afterward, the physical manifestations started to disappear.

Finally we were transferred to Costa Rica, where I was able to meet other Christian Scientists and have the privilege of serving in several capacities in the services held by the little group here.
