OUR WEDNESDAY TESTIMONY MEETINGS

Someone has said, "There is no room in a Christian Science testimony meeting for long and complacent silences Conversely, a person once remarked. "I so love to come to church to meditate and ponder." But should not our meditation and pondering be done before the meeting, so that we may come prepared to testify before friends and strangers to the power of the Christ Truth, in our own experiences?

The Wednesday testimony meeting is vitally important to the organization. A church auditorium may be filled to its doors on Sunday, but if there is not an audible giving of thanks at the midweek meeting, that church may be likened to a beautiful flowering fruit tree which bears no fruit.

What is it that keeps us glued to our seats? It may be fear. Error may say to us: "You are incapable of expressing yourself. You will stutter and stammer and utterly fail. What you say will not be helpful. Better wait until you are more advanced and can do a good job."
