How grateful I am for Christian Science!

Once when I had appendicitis, I decided to overcome it through Science, but friends scared me by prophesying the probably fatal results of not having my appendix removed. Worried, and seeking guidance, I took up a Sentinel, and it opened to an article which stated that the writer had had appendicitis. Mortal mind had shrieked of the terrifying results if he did not have an operation, but he had made his stand and was healed. After that I never contemplated an operation, but with the help of a practitioner I was healed.

A tendency to repeated colds and septic throat has been overcome, also anemia, catarrh, and rheumatism, which a doctor had said could not be cured. With the help of the practitioner a nervous breakdown caused by my brooding over self instead of living for others was healed. It is wonderful to have been able to overcome fear to such a degree and no longer to be neurotic.

I am indeed grateful to God for bringing Christian Science to me, and my gratitude also goes out to Christ Jesus and to Mrs. Eddy, whose spirituality was so great that she was enabled to receive this wonderful revelation. For membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, where I had the privilege of serving in various capacities, for the gradual overcoming of faults and a growing understanding of Christian Science, I am deeply grateful.— (Miss) Iris Funnell, Bournemouth, Hampshire, England.
