Announcement
The Christian Science Publishing Society has continued to experience the heavy increases in wage, paper, and other production costs which are still general in the publishing industry, and must now reluctantly make effective its first increase in the subscription rate of the Christian Science Quarterly in many years.
Our readers are familiar with the increases which have been made effective generally by various periodicals in recent months.
Effective April 1, the annual subscription rate for the Christian Science Quarterly will be increased from $1 to $1.25 per year, and single copies from 25 cents to 35 cents.
As a result of the above changes, those receiving their periodicals on the Quarterly Payment Plan will find their rate increased 10 cents per quarter, beginning April 1.
The new rates will be reflected in all renewal notices issued by The Christian Science Publishing Society for periodicals to be delivered April 1 or thereafter.

Active Church Membership, a Contribution Toward World Redemption
One who recently was admitted to membership in The Mother Church wrote, "I am very happy now to belong to a world-redeeming movement. ..."
Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us that she prayed, watched, and worked for the redemption of mankind (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures 464:10–12). One outcome of her selfless effort was the establishment of The Mother Church, which is carrying on this work today through the individual redemption made manifest in the lives of its members.
Is it not glorious to know that one can be allied with this Church!
A loving welcome to apply for membership in The Mother Church is extended to those earnest students of Christian Science who are ready to accept our Leader's definition of "Church" (ibid., 583:12–19) and the platform and teachings contained in the textbook.
Application blanks and any other information concerning membership may be obtained at Christian Science Reading Rooms, from clerks of branch churches and societies, from Christian Science practitioners listed in The Christian Science Journal. and from Gordon V. Comer, Clerk of The Mother Church, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
Treatment for Veterans
Christian Science treatment from authorized Christian Science Workers is available, without charge, to veterans in government hospitals who are interested in Christian Science. Relatives and friends may send in the name of a veteran in a hospital to Manager, Camp Welfare Activities, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts, and this information will be promptly sent on to the Worker calling at the specified hospital.
