Finding suitable words to describe...

Finding suitable words to describe the many blessings that have come to me through Christian Science is indeed difficult. I enjoy good health, even though I do not concern myself with the so-called laws of hygiene. I am grateful to know that the "word of God is quick, and powerful" (Hebr. 4:12) and to testify that whenever I have relied completely on Truth, healing has resulted.

The truth about man has also been demonstrated for members of my family. Through the help of practitioners and the study of the works of Mrs. Eddy we have proved the unreality of burns from scalding water and the nothingness of hemorrhoids which developed into a condition feared to be cancer. Anemia, indigestion, and physical evidence of contagion have all been overcome by the omnipotence of Spirit. On more than one occasion it has been proved that "under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 424).

War work compelled me to dwell many miles from my family for several months, yet I can testify to spiritual growth during that period. The separation led to my making a more profound study of Principle, which was followed by membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. Shortly after I had taken these steps, a beautiful demonstration of home and supply was made. I was reunited with my wife and children. I was also accorded the glorious privilege of class instruction.

More recently, aware of the availability of God's guidance to those who trust in His will, I decided to accept a new position and move to another section of the country. This move took us into a strange community, with no arrangements for housing and with means of transportation for ourselves and household furnishings uncertain. Also I lacked previous experience in the type of employment which had been accepted. With gratitude I relate that divine Love met all our human needs, and every phase of the situation unfolded harmoniously, to prove again that "eye hath not seen, nor car heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (I Cor.2:9).

I am grateful to God and to Mrs. Eddy for the numerous means by which truth is disseminated to those who are willing to receive the blessing. As is so beautifully expressed in the Preface of Science and Health (p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."—Charles A. Strong, Leevining, California.

In corroborating the above testimony, I cannot forbear adding a few words of firsthand testimony about the healing of burns from scalding water. This healing occurred several years ago. It was a most beautiful one, for the infant showed none of the signs which mortal mind attaches to such things, in that he never experienced any pain to the point of crying. However, the evidence of burns caused by the water falling on his face and shoulders was so disturbing to those not relying on the truth about man that it seemed advisable to place the boy in our home while the healing work was continued by the practitioner. Within a week the reality of man's perfection and the unreality of accidents had been so thoroughly declared and understood that the boy could be removed to his own home. Not a sign of a scar or blemish remains to give any evidence of anything having happened to this boy.

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for the many avenues that have been given us to show forth the true nature of God's idea, man. I am very grateful for class instruction from a consecrated teacher and for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church.—Edwyn N. Roberts, Englewood, Colorado.
