In joyful gratitude I wish to acknowledge the blessings that Christian Science has brought me for many years. Before I knew anything about this wonderful truth, when I was struggling with a great sense of grief, a kind neighbor lent me the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read a few pages, but I felt it was too deep for me to grasp. However, I remembered these words (p. 449): "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing."

Months afterward these words kept recurring to me. The seed of Truth had been sown, for I was led to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting at a Christian Science church. I was much impressed with the happy faces I saw there and with the sincere testimonies of gratitude. From then on I was no longer satisfied to attend the services of any other church, though I had been reared in a religious atmosphere, my father having been an orthodox minister.

Some time later, when I was again stricken with an internal ailment which years before physicians had pronounced very serious and for which they had advised an operation, I decided to try Christian Science. As Mrs. Eddy so aptly expresses it on page 322 in Science and Health, "The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love." Through the help of a practitioner, I was instantaneously healed, and have never had a recurrence of this condition. Since then I have had many other healings—of intestinal influenza, pneumonia, headaches, shingles, neuralgia, and other discordant conditions. Each demonstration has brought much joy and spiritual growth.

I shall never forget the light that illumined my consciousness when I learned in Christian Science that God is Love, Principle, Mind, and not a glorified human person as I had been taught. A great sense of freedom and happiness has come with the understanding of man's relationship to God, and with the knowledge that man, God's image, is a perfect idea, not physique. I am most grateful for this wonderful statement (ibid., pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."

It is difficult to find words to express sufficient gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her inspired work in giving her discovery to the world. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a Christian Science Society, and for all the activities of this wonderful Cause. I am grateful also for the rich blessing of class instruction. It is my desire so to live this truth that I may be worthy of the name "Christian Scientist."—(Mrs.) May Belle S. Yetter, Los Angeles.
